The Westray Home Help service, or “Here 2 Help” offers assistance to the residents of Westray in need of support due to age, ill-health or disability.
Support offered by the scheme includes:-
- Household cleaning such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, etc.
- Local shopping/or accompanying the service user whilst shopping
- Light household maintenance such as washing paintwork, cleaning cupboards etc.
- Laundry and Ironing, changing bedding
- Outdoor maintenance such as gardening, path clearing, etc
Tasks not eligible under the Here 2 Help scheme include:-
- Personal Care
- Home repair or other substantial house hold maintenance such as painting
- childminding
- and other tasks that do not fit within the eligible list above
There is a charge for this service, but costs are subsided by the Development Trust to ensure it is affordable for residents.
