A further six people were awarded funding for the pesticides course for farmers (see Funding Awarded – July 2014 for more information): Alistair Harcus, Thomas Bain, Andrew Seatter, Richard Jarvis, Raymond Rendall and Elizabeth Drever.
First Aid at Work is a statutory training grant and Pierowall Fish were awarded funding for two participants. This course is being run on Westray and the final cost will be dependant on the number of participants, therefore the final grant amount will only be known once this has been confirmed.
As well as the First Aid at Work course, Corinne Curtis has managed to get the tutor to carry out First Aid training for youngsters aged 15 to 25. WDT are funding this with £200.
Funding for the Tourism Development Officer was also agreed this month. Over the two years, WDT will contribute £17575.
